the Paul R. Jones Collection of African American Art
In February 2001, Paul R. Jones, a pioneer in the collecting of African American art, donated a significant portion of his collection to the University Museums of the University of Delaware. The collection is housed on the Newark campus in Mechanical Hall, which has been renovated into gallery spaces with research and study facilities.
Narratives of African American Art and Identity: The David C. Driskell Collection . David Driskall is considered one of the most videly recognized experts on African American Art and Artists and is the consultant / curator of the Bill and Camille Cosby art collection.
